Q. What are your store hours?
A. Our store hours from January - August and November - December are:
Monday - Friday 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Sunday 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m
Extended Seasonal Weekday Hours for September and October are:
Monday - Friday 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Q. Where are you located?
A. Ellman's Dancewear is located at 3339 West Cary Street in Carytown, approximately 1 1/2 blocks down from the Kroger Grocery store, on the right side of the street. We are easily accessible from I-95, I-64 and I-195 (Powhite Parkway). Parking is available in the rear of our building.
Q. What is your return policy?
A. We will satisfy any customer concerns accompanied by a store receipt. We will accept returns for unworn merchandise in the original box/packaging and with the original tags. Dance belts can not be returned/exchanged. Pointe shoes can not be returned if ribbons, elastic or any alterations have been made to the shoe. Refunds are given within 30 days or purchase date. Clearance items and special orders are a final sale. We do not give refunds on gift certificates or on partial purchases using a gift certificate. Refunds are not given on shipping costs.
Q. Do dance shoes fit like standard street shoes?
A. No they do not. We highly recommend that an individual be personally fit for dance shoes. All dance studios have different preferences for shoe style, brand and fit. We keep a current file on most dance studio dress code/shoe requirements. Because of this we suggest that all dancers be properly fit for their dance shoes.
Q. Do I need to make an appointment for a pointe shoe fitting? Is there someone at your store who knows how to fit pointe shoes?
A. It is not necessary to make an appointment for pointe shoe fittings. Any of our staff are capable of fitting pointe shoes at the time of your visit. Pointe shoe fittings (first time especially) can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Please allow enough time.
Q. If I place an order via phone, email or through your online boutique when will it ship?
A. Providing the item is in stock we will ship it to you within 24 hours.
Q. How long does it usually take to receive an out of stock item or special order item?
A. Depending on the item needed and if the manufacturer has it in stock, the turn around time for us to receive your order request is approximatley 7 - 10 days. Group orders please allow at least 2 - 4 weeks.
Q. What methods of payment do you accept?
A. We gladly accept Cash, American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa. Sorry, we do not accept personal checks.
Q. What are your shipping costs?
A. We charge a flat rate of $9.00 for all orders shipped within the state of Virginia. Out of state rates will vary depending on shipping destination and weight. Please email or call for more information.
Q. Do you sell gift certificates?
A. Yes. Gift certificates are available in any amount and may be used on
in store purchases only.
Q. Do you offer group discounts?
A. Yes. Please refer to our Personalized Service page for more information on group discounts.
